The September Edit
There’s something special about September rolling around each year. Even though its been way too long since I’ve been in school, I still feel that fall magic and the promise of a fresh start each September. Is it just me, or does anyone else feel a new sense of invigoration during this time? I like to think I’m not alone in this little pocket of inspiration.
I’m here to share a few snippets that are inspiring me this month and spark some serious design creativity. Shall we?
Embroidery - LOVE LOVE LOVE everything embroidered right now. Think jazzing up curtains with embroidered trim, embellished fabrics and lamp shades. It’s a cool opportunity to give extra texture to areas you wouldn’t typically expect it.
Stitching - It’s all about the details here. I’m a fan of adding small touches to pillows and furnishings with interesting stitch patterns. Bonus points if the stitching is contrasting color to the item.
Squiggles - Getting squiggly with it, oh la la la la la (I simply couldn’t help myself…) Seriously though, I love the playful and retro vibe with squiggle/scallop pattern. Think of items where you wouldn’t normally expect this shape - Rugs, pillows, stone backsplash fabrication (yes yes yes).
Burgundy - Backstory, I have been non-stop thinking about burgundy square toe boots with a sheen for a few weeks now (still trying to find the perfect pair - send recs my way if you have one!) This has definitely spilled over into my design inspo. I LOVE this burgundy sconce. The sheen is stunning. Looks like liquid gold.
Lavender - I’m a fan of mixing in a bit of the unexpected. When I think of lavender, I think of spring. I like the idea of having subtle touches of lavender mixing in with the moodier tones you might typically see in fall. Especially pairing this with chocolate browns - stunning.
Thanks for popping by!
