The March Edit

Does anyone else feel like March came and went in the blink of an eye? I’m so thankful that the last day of the month finally brought some seriously beautiful Spring weather. The promise of what’s to come - sunshine, more time outside and endless inspiration.

Today was another insanely stunning day. In an effort to keep up with my slower paced and intentional lifestyle, I spent a good chunk of time outside grounding. Grounding is SO simple and I’ve found does wonders for my mood. It’s so simple - you just need to be barefoot and walking around! Truly, kick off your shoes, walk around in the grass and just enjoy. Be there in the moment, no phone, no interruptions, just enjoy being outside and taking in your surroundings. Before you know it, you’ve got an instant mood booster. Speaking of pick me ups, I’m sharing some design details that helped me through the last bits of Winter with the hope of Spring on the horizon below. Check it out.

Here’s some key pieces that have been serving some serious inspiration this last month. Let’s dive in..

1. Vibrant prints - Really loving all of the warm pink tones coming through in this inspiration image. The 70’s throwback print brings a fun edge to any outfit. The print can easily translate to punching up a sofa or adorn office windows.

2. Wavy millwork - Millwork is an opportunity to bring in some of a client’s personality to their space. Sure, you can punch up more traditional cabinetry with a splash of color, but why not play with interesting details such as this wave? I like how it’s modernity is balanced with the neutral paint. Dare to be bold!

3. Interesting colored lighting - Lighting is the jewelry of the house! You should really explore having fun in this area of design. I love the idea of playing with lighting colors you wouldn’t regularly see in every home: yellow, lavender, what have you. It’s an opportunity to bring some contrasting color to a space that you might not typically use.

4. Carved out nooks - No space goes unturned! This nook is a fun multi use of space. Not just a standard go-to book nook, but a cool seating area filled with art and plenty of storage. I love re-thinking a space and putting a new twist on it. This inspo does just that.

5. Warming nature indoors - Willing spring to be here full force, let’s bring oversized pretty floral art into our home. Have fun with color, scale and loads of visual texture. The cool thing about wall art is you can ALWAYS swap it out. Don’t wait, put the wall art up!

January Interior Design Inspiration

The January Edit

For the most Mondayest month of the year, here we are getting our inspo thoughts out there right at the end of the finish line. I’ll admit I’m a masochist for living for the thrill of a self-imposed deadline (thrill, anxiety..something like that). Maybe I’ll add it to the New Year’s resolution list, we’ll see.

Over the years I’ve grasped at the excitement for jumping into New Years resolutions, only to realized most were unfulfilled come the end of the year. The issue is that resolutions are half-assed. They’re either a blip of a thought or a spoken word that’s drifted away, never to be seen again. My friends, let me tell you, I’ve found a method that works better by tenfold! For the last almost decade, I’ve practiced dreaming up intention lists and vision boards. This is more than just a resolution, it’s a completed desire that your heart wants to bring into your life, but only if you’re ready for it. I’m so excited for this New Year and to share how I work this into my daily life so you can to. So let’s cheers to the year ahead!

Here’s some key pieces that have been serving some serious inspiration this month. Let’s jump in..

1. Interesting Vases - I have been drooling over vases and vessels with an intriguing architectural element. Much like this photo that has an organic shape and detailed carvings. It makes it feel fluid and soft. The point is, let’s give the basic glass vases a time-out and break out the fun!

2. Mocha, Mocha, Mocha - Being a New Englander in the dead of a gloomy winter, I am just leaning into the lush and moody mocha family. Let’s bring a little bit of that heavy feeling into the home and balance it with warmer undertones (not trying to go full emo here). These colors would be stunning in a bedroom or anywhere you’re looking to feel a bit more relaxed. Hell - If I had a library I would go full blown with this vibe.

3. Wallpaper Moments - I’m a big fan of utilizing wallpaper in different ways. I really like the idea of breaking up your regularly all painted Mudroom with something of interest. This wallpaper orientation does just that. It provides a pop of life in a normally not so thrilling drop zone.

4. Quirky, but make it Elegant- I’m not shy about how much I love quirk. Hell, I know all about being quirky. I love embracing the different and the slightly weird. This wallpaper from afar looks like an elegant toile paper, but upon closer look it’s animals dressed up for a ball. It can be really fun to play with an off-beat wallpaper in a Powder Room (wow Guests), Playroom (a space meant for creative play), or a Dining Room where you’re trying to off-set the seriousness and formality of the space (gotta love juxtaposition).

5. The New Neutral - If there’s one thing you can count on, it’s the constant revolving door of the current neutral paint palette. At one point it was greys (yes, I spell it with an e, I just like it better that way), then crisp whites, and now it’s all the creams. It’s kind of like watching someone grow out of their emo phase in high school to a happy and functioning adult, where once colors were cool, now we’re wanting warmth. Don’t worry, greys will come around again, but for now, I’m loving the creams. A few of my favorite Benjamin Moore colors are: Swiss Coffee, Ballet White and Feather Down.

6. Gallery Wall - Simply digging the eclectic and rich look of a layered frame gallery wall. This is an opportunity to go thrifting, mixing old and new and really having a ball with pulling photos and art together.

October Interior Design Inspiration

The October Edit

It’s safe to say that the month has been a whirlwind as I’m just getting around to sharing some design elements that have inspired me lately. With summer far in the rear view, I’ve been feeling the strong pull to curl up and hibernate. This immense desire leads me to needing a few key pieces in my home for cozy season.

Here’s some key pieces that have been giving me major inspiration over the last month. Let’s dive in..

1. Cool tones - Where I naturally gravitate towards warm and happy colors. This past month I’ve been really leaning into cooler colors with a bit of moodiness. This is to be expected around this time of year when we get the natural urge to want to relax and slow down as days start to become darker. And you know what? I’m here for it!

2. Shades of Glass- I am really digging different color variations for glass items. These accent tables are stunning. I’m seeing this sort of color play in a lot of lamps, candle sticks and other small decorative items. This is a fun way to incorporate a hint of color within your space.

3. Paper Mâché - Chefs kiss to the artists that put interesting spins on everyday items. I simply adore this table lamp. It’s a cool way to pull in a textural element into your home (always about the texture). The mustard stripes kick it up a notch by adding some fun personality.

4. Pronounced Trims - Neutrals don’t have to be boring. We can bring some serious interest with super contrasted piping or big chunky stripes.

5. Unexpected Color - I love the concept of having hidden pops of color as a cool surprise moment. Not everything needs to be so obvious within our homes, what about the overlooked places? Let’s turn our attention to these afterthought locations, making sure to bring joy to more areas of our lives.
